Outermost Regions Forum 2020: Participation of Mr Eugene Rhuggenaath, Curaçao’s Prime Minister and OCTA Chair

The 2020 Outermost Regions Forum will be a virtual event held over the afternoons of 12, 13 and 14 October 2020 from Brussels.

This Forum is a high-level dialogue platform for the nine outermost regions of the European Union – Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Martinique, Mayotte, Reunion Island, Saint-Martin (France), the Azores, Madeira (Portugal) and the Canary Islands (Spain) - their Member States, the European Union institutions and civil society.

In line with the European Green Deal, the Forum will specifically focus on particular on three major themes for the Outermost Regions: climate change, circular economy and blue economy, which will play a key role in these regions’ economic recovery.

Mr Eugene Rhuggenaath, Curaçao’s Prime Minister and OCTA Chair, will be participating in the panel on blue economy on Monday 12 October, from 17h to 18h20 (Brussels time). Information will be shared on the OCTs commitment towards blue economy and sustainable development. Additionally, examples of collaborations in between OCTs and neighborhood islands, including Outermost Regions will also be presented.
